Some members of our GAY U.S.A. community of contributors, supporters and participants have been directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy, described by Mayor Bloomberg as New York City’s biggest storm ever. (Scroll down GAY USA’s About Page.)
Speaker Christine Quin, Richard Socarides, Cathy Renna and our featured lesbian couple Carol Barnett & Nannette Gonnella, who have been together for over 38 years, have all so kindly provided time and support to the film, reside in the area dramatically impacted by the ferocious storm.
We at Gay. U.S.A. the Movie extend love and well wishes to you and all, including all our supporters affected by Hurricane Sandy . We hope you are safe and that you will find comfort and full support to recover from this awful storm.
The storm continues to cause havoc along the east coast, 30 deaths reported so far, with hundreds still being rescued and millions out of electrical power. According to President Obama, the storm is not yet over and people must ensure they remain safe.
Additionally we extend thanks thanks to our equality president, President Barack Obama, for his selfless and consistent leadership during this critically difficult time.
Our thoughts are with all impacted, as well as those who have the hard clean up task ahead. We ask that all help focus in the days ahead on providing the support that will be needed to bring the U.S.A. back to well being.
