SAN FRANCISCO and MARIN COUNTY – share a wonder of the world - California’s gate way, The Golden Gate Bridge, which celebrated its 75th Birthday today as thousands of poured in from around the Bay Area to celebrate. Much of the work on Gay. U.S.A. the Movie has been based in Marin County, connected by the Golden Gate Bridge, to the City of San Francisco.
The Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It has been declared one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Frommers travel guide considers the Golden Gate Bridge “possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world”.
Tonight we braved thousands of bumper to bumper vehicles and headed up to the Marin Headlands. We found a perfect spot looking down on the magnificent steel span, and Kristina shot the firework display as seen in the video below.
This footage went up less than an hour after the historic evening celebration, showing Kristina’s use of time lapse, turning the 40 minute show into a minute and half, and set to music by Flying Lotus.
